Description

The Nokia 472182A (FBBA) Capacity Extension Sub-Module adds additional baseband processing capacity to Nokia’s Flexi Multiradio station architecture. When installed alongside the system module, it allows operators to increase capacity (e.g., additional WCDMA channel-elements or extra LTE carriers) without replacing the entire base unit. It supports both WCDMA/HSPA and LTE modes: in WCDMA it can add roughly 576 channel elements; for LTE it supports up to 3×20 MHz (or 6×10 MHz) with 2×2 MIMO, enabling high downlink throughput. Importantly, this module is designed for in-field upgrade (hot-install) so traffic disruption is minimal. It connects via high-speed optical/QSFP or OBSAI interfaces and integrates into the existing site power/thermal envelope.
