Description
The Nokia 471880A (.101) is a hot-pluggable SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) optical transceiver designed for use in Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent telecom and data-network equipment. It supports 1000Base-LX (1 Gbps) data rate, operates at 1310 nm wavelength over single-mode fibre (SMF) with duplex LC connectors, and can reach distances up to around 10 km under specified optical budget conditions. The module features digital diagnostic monitoring (DOM) compliant with SFF-8472, allowing real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature, laser bias current, transmitted/received optical power, and supply voltage. It uses a standard +3.3 V supply, supports industrial or commercial temperature ranges (varies by version), and is encased in a metal housing providing EMI shielding. This type of transceiver is commonly used in enterprise backhaul, campus backbone, or telecom fronthaul applications where cost-effective long-distance 1 Gbps connectivity is needed.
