Description
Floating Point
Using the FLOPS unit, we can estimate the raw performance of graphics cards today. It indicates how many operations per second a graphics card can perform, allowing us to compare them against each other. However, these values can vary depending on the bit size of the floating-point (FP) representation. The larger the bit size, the more accurate the calculations, but also the fewer of them there are. Gaming PCs primarily use 32-bit FP (FP32) for precise calculations, while AI graphics cards use FP8, which reduces accuracy but increases the number of calculations.

Graphics Memory
VRAM, typically of GDDR type today, is a synchronous memory similar to standard RAM. Graphics memory utilizes faster throughput and multiple data transfer rates, enabling quicker buffering of data calculated by the graphics card or coprocessor and passed to the processor.

CUDA Technology
Professional application users benefit from CUDA graphics stream processors built on CUDA architecture. This architecture enables the raw computational power of the graphics card to perform specific calculations, accelerating tasks compared to traditional processors with fewer cores.
Active Cooling
Active cooling is widely used, as it effectively lowers temperatures through air flow, typically with fans. This cooling method helps create a vacuum inside the case, improving air circulation to remove heat from the graphics card. Active cooling types include axial cooling (common for gaming cards) and radial cooling, used in turbo versions.
PCI Express
PCI Express is an interface found as an expansion slot, ensuring system modularity for components like GPUs, network cards, controllers, and M.2 drives. Performance improves with newer generations and wider interfaces. Most modern graphics cards use 16 lanes to connect with the processor. PCI Express generation 6.0, the latest version, offers a speed of 7.5 GB/s per lane.
